But what if that’s the wrong question to ask?\nObservations about past periods of inflation as well as structural and demographic changes affecting the investing landscape may be hinting more at a long-term paradigm shift than at a short-term cycle. If that turns out to be the case\, investors may be facing a prolonged period of persistent headwinds which will require a change in mindset from a dependence on price appreciation to a focus on income.\nDuring the presentation\, Venk Reddy\, Chief Investment Officer—Sustainable Credit at Osterweis Capital Management\, will provide a data-driven picture of consumer prices\, labor markets\, and the last 40 years of capital market innovation which investors should consider when planning their portfolios for the next decade and beyond.\nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\n\n\nWhen will the economy cycle turn\n\n\nFed’s battle against inflation is likely to last longer than anticipated\, which should keep rates higher over the near-to-medium term\, learn how to create attractive opportunities for investors seeking income.\n\n\nTimeline of structural market tailwinds\n\n\nAppreciate income when prices stop appreciating\n\n\nThe core fixed income portfolio of tomorrow will require a combination of yield and risk diversification\n\n\n\nSPEAKER BIO: \nVenk Reddy joined Osterweis Capital Management in 2022 as part of the Zeo Capital Advisors team transition. Prior to founding Zeo Capital in 2009\, Mr. Reddy was a co-founder of Laurel Ridge Asset Management\, a multi-strategy hedge fund\, where he managed the credit\, distressed\, and event-driven portfolios.\nPreviously\, Mr. Reddy structured derivative products and was head of delta-one trading as a portfolio manager within Bank of America’s Equity Financial Products group (EFP). Mr. Reddy also managed investments in event-driven situations\, convertible instruments\, and options at Pine River Capital Management and HBK Investments\, where he started his career.\nMr. Reddy is a principal of the firm and a Portfolio Manager for the sustainable credit strategies He is also a portfolio manager for the growth & income and flexible balanced strategies.\nMr. Reddy graduated from Harvard University (B.A in Computer Science with Honors).\nMore Information\nTicket price includes: heavy appetizers\, Starbucks coffee & decaf\, hot water with Teavana teas\, and Ice water & iced tea.\nThere is also a bar in the hotel lobby if attendees want to continue networking after the meeting.\n1.0 CEU is available for this session \nNo refunds after 3pm the day before the meeting.\nFEATURED ANNUAL SPONSOR

SUMMARY:July 2021 Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Overview:\nWhen a client informs you they are planning to divorce many thoughts come to mind. Should I get involved? What can I do to help? Is there a conflict of interest? While there is not a cookie-cutter approach to divorce finances\, an understanding of the process and helpful information for the client(s) who are divorcing can be of great assistance. We will look at the types of financial analysis\, decisions\, support\, and resources that may be needed and provide guidance about what you as a financial planner without divorce expertise can reasonably provide. Considerations for divorce planning that involve decisions relating to keeping the house\, pensions\, retirement plans\, and brokerage accounts\, division of stock plans\, as well as gray divorce will be addressed. In closing\, we will look at a checklist of items to be addressed post-divorce. \nTopic: Divorce Planning for Planners \nSpeaker:  Beth McClelland CDFA\, CFP® \nFeatured Partner: Louis Retief\, Hubly \nVenue: Virtual \nAbout the Speaker: \nBeth McClelland\, MBA\, CDFA\, CFP® is the founder and managing principal of East Bay Divorce Financial Planning.
