DESCRIPTION:Topic: Intentional Giving \nSummary: In this presentation you will learn how to talk with clients about their philanthropic objectives and connect them to the appropriate giving vehicles to achieve their philanthropic\, tax\, and estate planning goals. \n1. To introduce participants to charitable giving vehicles that clients may find of interest.\n2. Provide case studies in how actual gifts were executed at Stanford University.\n3. Provide information about current legislation that promotes charitable giving. \n  \nSpeakers: Wendy Chou\, Deputy Director of Planned Giving; Katie Robinson\, Sr. Associate Director of Development at Stanford University \nSpeakers biographies: \nWendy Chou joined the Office of Planned Giving in 2019 after helping donors create funds at the Oregon Community Foundation and Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Prior to working in the community foundation field for eight years\, she was a relationship manager at TIAA Kaspick and also held positions at the gift planning offices of Boston College and Santa Clara University. Wendy earned her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and her JD from Santa Clara University. \nKatie Robinson joined Medical Center Development in 2019 as the Sr. Associate Director of Development\, supporting the fundraising efforts for the Department of Medicine. She previously worked as the Executive Director of Philanthropy for Verity Health System. Katie has more than 15 years of frontline fundraising experience in both health care and higher education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from University of San Diego\, and her MA from New York University.
