Event Information - Financial Planning Days

Due to the current economic environment, many of our neighbors are searching for emotional and financial advice to help them plan for their futures and achieve financial stability.  Financial Planning Day is a collaboration with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc (CFP Board), Financial Planning Association® (FPA), Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) and U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM).  Financial Planning Days will be supported in numerous cities across the country as part of Financial Planning Week October 4 – 10.  Around the Bay area Financial Planning Day will also be hosted in Oakland on October 3 and in San Francisco on October 16.

This ground-breaking program will unite the collective resources of the financial planning community and the City of Sunnyvale to benefit the underserved, young adults, and those individuals facing special life circumstances or crisis, by empowering them with financial planning information to achieve their life goals.  At the Silicon Valley Financial Planning Day event, CFP® professionals and FPA members will provide free, no-strings-attached, financial advice and education to Silicon Valley residents through one-on-one counseling and educational workshop presentations.   We currently have over twenty-five Silicon Valley CFP® professionals who are committed to giving their time and expertise for this effort.
