Speaker: Mariaelena Lemas, Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration
Social Security is a major source of income for many retirees. Join us and learn about the options for taking Social Security when a couple has two incomes. We will look at issues such as the optimal age for each person to start claiming benefits, resetting benefits, and maximizing the payout over the combined lifetimes. We will walk through some examples to demonstrate these scenarios. If you have clients nearing social security age, or even those who have recently started taking benefits, this session should prove to be educational.
Mariaelena Lemas has worked for the Social Security Administration for 14 years. She started her career as a Service Representative in 1996 and was promoted to a Claims Representative in 2003. She has recently been named the new Public Affairs Specialist for the South-Bay area. She has a wide range of experience dealing with Social Security matters ranging from Identity Theft, Disability, Medicare and Retirement.
Seating is limited. Note that this session is on a Thursday, instead of our usual Friday session. To reserve your seat, please RSVP early to Lauree Murphy at
Lauree@Yahoo.com A $10 fee will be collected at the door.
