A hearty welcome to the New Year and our new website. We are very excited to launch this new website and to share the improvements and new features with our members and the public.
The primary goal is to increase connections between the chapter and it’s members. Together we are a unique community that looks after both our interests and those of the community at large.
As you browse the site I encourage all of you to learn what the chapter’s committees are doing. Should you find one that appeals to you, just click on the contact information links and reach out to the committee and offer to help in some way. From Programs through Pro Bono there are many opportunities for you to become a valued volunteer.
There are many changes to the website but I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight just a few.

We have included a number of new social networking links to FPA related sites. These include the FPA blog and links to the FPA on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
As part of our effort to reach out to you we have our own FPASV blog, which can be accessed through the Community tab, under the “Find it Quick” list on the Home page as well as other links throughout the site. We encourage you to not only read and comment on the articles in the blog but to become an author and submit an article for publication.
We have included a financial planner search tool on our site called Find A Professional. If you are a member of our chapter you may opt to be part of this database. It is not the same as the FPA National planner search capability and will include only chapter members. We are planning to enhance the value of the search tool to include our affiliated professionals and to expand the search criteria.
Finally, we have tried to increase our member’s awareness of the contributions made by our partners. By clicking on any of our partner logos you will be able to learn more about each partner, including their services, their specialty and how to contact them.
With so many changes it is impossible to mention each one. I encourage everyone to spend a time browsing the site. I am sure you will find it easier to read, more specific to your needs and increase your ability to connect with your chapter.
We want to know what you like or don’t like about our new website. Please

for new features or improvements to our Executive Director via the link on the Contact Us page. We can’t promise we will make the changes you want, but we do promise to listen carefully to what you have to say.
Enjoy your new website. I fervently hope each of you will take it upon yourself to do one thing for your chapter and your community this year. Thank you for your time and welcome to your community.
