Chapter News

FPA Silicon Valley, in partnership with MAITRI, is looking for volunteers to help women facing domestic violence, emotional abuse, cultural alienation, human-trafficking, and family conflict. You would be providing individual counseling for one of these women on financial issues ranging from debt management through asset building. The goal is to support them to become financially independent and self-reliant. Please contact Ariadne at Ahorstman@ssffinancial.com for more information or if you’d like to participate.

Tour a Financial Firm

Have you ever wondered if there was another way to run your financial planning practice? What are the various roles available within a Financial Firm or RIA?  Do you need to have a broker-dealer affiliation?  Do you need licenses or a designation? What are some of the challenges of joining an ensemble firm versus starting your own? What opportunities are available as an employee?

If you’ve ever asked yourself any of these questions, the FPA Silicon Valley chapter has arranged three Financial Firms/RIA tours this Fall to give members an inside look into three successful firms.  Each company has graciously offered to open up their offices and their staff and share their experiences.  Come prepared with questions!

Attendance will be limited to 6-10 FPA members so register early as spots will fill up fast.

The dates are:

Monday, October 20, 2014 at 3:00 PM Bedrock Capital Management, Los Altos
Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM Wade Financial Advisory Inc., Campbell
