John Chiang, California State Controller recognizes Financial Planning Day

As part of a National Campaign to spread financial awareness, the FPA of Silicon Valley held another successful Financial Planning Day this past October. Here is a little of what John Chiang, the previous California State Controller, had to say, “…I appreciate your efforts in support of Manage Your Money Week, and I hope your organization will continue to highlight the importance of building the financial capability of Californians.” Link to the letter

FPA Silicon Valley, in partnership with MAITRI, is looking for volunteers to help women facing domestic violence, emotional abuse, cultural alienation, human-trafficking, and family conflict. You would be providing individual counseling for one of these women on financial issues ranging from debt management through asset building. The goal is to support them to become financially independent and self-reliant. Please contact Ariadne at ariadne.horstman@gmail.com for more information or if you’d like to participate.
